VIEO Design is currently seeking an entry-level Business Development Representative to join our work family. We’re an award-winning web design and inbound marketing agency, based in Knoxville, celebrating our 11th year. We have a reputation for industry expertise and exceptional customer care. Also, we’re bad at impromptu dancing but very good at pun-based parties!

Our business development representative will be responsible for generating and closing new business leads through local networking as well as nurturing inbound leads driven by our marketing activities. Responsibilities include but not limited to those described below.

In this position, you will:

  • Join an amazing 16-person team of designers, writers, project managers, developers, makers, gamers, and shameless dorks
  • Work closely with our business development manager to generate new business leads and meet established sales goals
  • Conduct face-to-face local networking to attract, convert, and close new and repeat business
  • Vet and nurture inbound leads from our website using multiple communication channels including email, social media, and phone calls
  • Act as our office’s first point of contact for incoming phone calls 
  • Help to craft effective, accurate, and convincing presentations and proposals
  • Conduct competitor research for our prospects, clients, and company
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with prospective and current clients
  • Document contacts, lead statuses, and engagement efforts in our CRM
  • Support our business development team in maintaining and improving our CRM
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends to better educate prospects and clients on inbound marketing and digital marketing best practices
  • Continually and proactively bring new ideas, strategies, process improvements, and proposals to our business development manager and company owners
  • Help carry out low-key office pranks, participate in team building via group games, drink snobby tea with our content team, and take part in VIEO-only holidays like Sucker Brunch and Grill Smith

Experience and Skills Required:

 

Education & Professional Experience

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university required (while a jazz dance instructor certification is impressive, a major in Marketing, Communications, or Business might be more useful)
  • A preferred minimum of one year of professional experience in digital/inbound marketing
  • HubSpot certification in Inbound Sales preferred (free to take)

Skills and Strengths Required

  • Understanding of digital marketing tactics including: web/online marketing, inbound marketing, marketing automation, digital advertising/SEM, SEO, content marketing, and social media marketing tactics
  • Knowledge of web design best practices and principles
  • Strong verbal communication skills for engagement with prospects and clients
  • Strong writing skills for drafting presentations and proposals
  • Ability to successfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and/or projects in a deadline-driven and sales-goal driven environment
  • A passion for delighting customers and providing tangible ROI
  • Proven ability to proactively lead clients and prospects
  • Strong attention to detail

 
Technical Skills & Experience Required and/or Preferred

  • Strong technical background with advanced computer skills including proficiency with common business-use applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Dropbox
  • Experience with WordPress and/or similar Content Management Systems
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (CRMs)
  • Google Analytics experience preferred
  • Experience using HubSpot a plus
